The old adage is true, life happens when you are busy making other plans. My plan was to be a book editor. Armed with a BA in English from the University of Colorado, off I went to New York. Having worked at flower shops in high school and in college, I was encouraged to hone my chops in what was familiar instead. Inspired by the stunning interiors I designed flowers for, I quickly developed a passion for room design, objects, art and textiles and began to consult my clients on decor. Home magazines were subscribed to, pages were torn out and filed away. Eventually I was asked to work on a tabletop photo shoot, then a floral shoot, then many shoots with interiors and lifestyle not far behind. Flowers taught me color, texture, fragility and dimension that I have borrowed and transferred to styling my projects.
After living in New York off and on for 20+ years, I moved to Boulder, Colorado to shore up what was important in my life besides work. Open space and the mountains bring me a clarity and sense of peace which I’ve noticed has seeped into my work. I live with my boyfriend Ike and 2 hilarious labrador retrievers, Bo and GG. I run and garden and Ike rides his bike. In the winter we ski a lot and have decided that West is Best.
